All available parquet types boast unique peculiarities in terms of aesthetic performance. The international standard UNI EN 13489:2018 regulates and classifies the selection of wood elements based on appearance (such as the presence of wood grain and wood knots) by distinguishing them into 3 categories each marked by a geometric symbol: Circle: Extra choice, Triangle: Nature choice, Square: Rustic choice. Parquet Extra: Circle Choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Extra Choice<\/strong> is also known by the common name “rigatino<\/strong>” or “first choice parquet<\/strong>.” The wood fiber is oriented and may have only small healthy knots, less than 3 mm, may have slight shading, and sapwood (the softer and lighter part of the log) is not allowed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parquet will have a regular wood grain, occasional small healthy knots called partridge eyes, and boards lacking sapwood (the softest and lightest part of the log).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Parquet Nature: Choosing Triangle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Nature’s Choice<\/strong>, wood knots and striations, although limited in size and quantity, emphasize the natural and organic character of the wood.In these types of parquetry also known as “flamed striped parquet<\/strong>” have slight color variations with evenly patterned grain, possible deviations, healthy knots of small size (up to eight millimeters in diameter) and sapwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This type of parquet is an excellent choice for anyone who wants the floor to have a very natural look.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Rustic Parquet: Square Choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pronounced cracks, knots, and streaks with no specific size limit: we are talking about the Rustic<\/strong> Choice<\/strong> represented with the square <\/strong>. Depending on the type of wood, this appearance class tolerates to a greater extent all the “imperfections” that are actually real aesthetic features: abundance of knots (both filled and unfilled), mineral grain and streaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These floors are a good choice when a natural, living look is what you are looking for. More suitable choice on prefinished products. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
