SILVER PROTECTOR: the invisible finish as a sanitizing barrier.
Silver Protector is a natural barrier with extraordinary sanitizing capacity. An invisible protective finish that, thanks to the sanitizing ability of silver ions, is able to keep your hardwood floor sanitized over time by preventing the survival and proliferation of germs.
As documented in laboratory tests, the sanitizing varnish eliminates 99.9% of the bacterial population in as little as 24 hours. When bacteria and germs come in contact with the wood surface silver ions:
- penetrate the cell membrane of the microbe;
- They stifle the respiration of the microbe;
- attack the DNA of the microbe to prevent its reproduction.

Long-lasting hygiene for all kinds of environments.
Due to their mineral nature, silver ions maintain their condition as they are unable to evaporate. This means that this extraordinary varnish, remains unchanged over time and is not removed when cleaning the parquet.
An ideal solution for environments that, due to service peculiarities, have high sanitizing requirements: dental and medical offices, swimming pools, saunas, beauty centers, restaurants, bars; or, for increased healthiness of rooms in the home such as bathrooms and kitchens. In addition, Silver Prot ector is an invisible protective paint that does not alter the aesthetics of Berti products and can be applied to all collections.

Silver: ancient efficacy against bacteria.
The use of silver ions has deep roots. Egyptians, Phoenicians and Romans while unaware of the underlying chemical principles made extensive use of it for healing, purification and maintenance activities.
The Egyptians used silver containers to store water; the Phoenicians carried vinegar and wine in silver vessels. Among the Romans, it was not uncommon to treat skin ulcers by affixing silver objects. Beginning in the 1300s, the Catholic Church, to ward off the spread of disease among priests and faithful, imposed silver chalices and basins in the Eucharistic liturgy.
Today, research and technology make it possible to decline age-old effectiveness to meet the most modern needs of hygiene-sensitive environments.
