Rosanna Berti is ordained “Cavaliare di San Marco.”

On April 25, 2012 at the church of S.Francesco della Vigna in Venice, the ceremony of the new admission of the Knights of St. Mark was held in which Rosanna Berti also took part and received the title of Knight of St. Mark.

That location represents the official headquarters of the order next to the Parish Church of San Francesco della Vigna in the Castello district of Venice: a church very dear to Venetians because it stands on the site where, according to legend, Christ appeared to St. Mark.

All Knights gathered for the formation of the procession, and at 3 p.m. the ceremony began with the presentation of the new Knights and the reading of the merits achieved that allowed their admission into the association. During the solemn admission ceremony, the new Knights of St. Mark signed their membership in the Roll of Honor and the reasons for merit were read out so that they would be an example and stimulus to others.

Here is the transcript of the motivations read during the ceremony: “Mrs. Rosanna has for several years been dedicated to humanitarian activities coaudited by her family, creating in 2004 the Mother Teresa Association whose purpose is to help the weakest people in society. She runs a store of various objects whose proceeds go totally to charity. She helps a pediatric ward with funds for its maintenance in Ethiopia and evolves a strong economic aid to missions in India.”

Rosanna was honored to receive the nomination, which enables the expansion of the activities promoted through theMother Teresa Association, which was established to promote sensitivity, with the aim of helping the weakest people in our society, both locally and in other countries, and to collaborate with other organizations or institutions. (In this regard, see also: “Let us introduce you to the Mother Teresa Association“).

TheAssociation of the Knights of St. Mark represents the evolution of the ancient order in existence during the Serenissima Repubbilca of Venice, but cast in the perspective of our days. The Association aims to promulgate the intentions of the ancient sodality in the perspective and purposes of a charitable association also works guided by charitable, social, humanitarian and religious purposes.

Rosanna Berti was accompanied and followed during the ceremony by the whole family: who witness and rejoice at the important recognition received. Such activities are a clear sign of attention for the works promoted in recent years and are an important premise to be able to expand the message of solidarity and involve more and more people who want to do good.
