Houses with parquet floors

In Palermo, a 140-sqm apartment with minimal style. “House on the Park” is a sartorial renovation project with a sophisticated atmosphere characterized by significant brightness and natural wood tones.

Parquet, Oak, Essential

From the beige of the wooden floors to the earthy hues of other furnishings, a neutral palette is the key to elegant rooms with a soft atmosphere. Thus, in this renovation of an apartment on the upper floors of a 1970s apartment building overlooking Favorita Park in Palermo, the Studio Didea intervened by accommodating the client’s need and desire: to create a minimal space in tune with the surrounding nature.

It is the wood of the floor that is the great protagonist. Chosen in the most genuine version, the Naturalized light oak from the Essential collection is a prefinished brushed parquet with a matt finish. The matte parquet renders all the naturalness of the wood by sending back light in a diffuse way without a mirror effect; the wood brushing, on the other hand, enhances the parquet texture for a sophisticated and enveloping end result. This is how for a minimalist style, parquet floors with light, light colors and visible, tactile wood grains are ideal.

Furniture with parquet flooring

Since time immemorial, wood for interior flooring has been one of the best materials offered by nature. Wood planks are unique for making one’s home comfortable, warm and elegant. In addition, parquet has important benefits: from beauty to comfort, through ease of maintenance to the sustainability of the raw material.
For this reason, the project “House on the Park” boasts a rich presence of parquet and wood, in harmony with the panoramic view of the expanse of green as far as the eye can see and the disruptive presence of Monte Pellegrino. A renovation project with a simple and minimalist taste, with attention to the craftsmanship of details and a careful selection of luxurious, precious materials with natural finishes for warm and welcoming environments marked by clean and rational lines, balanced with warm and soft tones.

Renovation and flooring: the benefits of parquet flooring

When you are in the throes of renovation, wood floors always win you over with their warmth, fragrance and visual beauty. Here are just some of the reasons that were decisive in choosing parquet in this remodeling project….

  1. Wood Resistance. Choosing a parquet floor is a long-term choice. Whether it is walnut, teak wood or oak, modern finishing techniques make wood floors resistant to footfall.
  2. Thermal and acoustic insulation. Wood is a naturally sound-absorbing material and therefore dampens noise, improves thermal efficiency, regulates air humidity, and prevents the buildup of electrostatic charges.
  3. Underfloor heating and parquet floors. Wood is a living material with excellent insulating properties: direct contact with the heat emitted by radiant panels allows heat to be evenly distributed, ensuring energy savings and promoting a feeling of warmth if you walk barefoot.
  4. Barefooting. Walk barefoot on hardwood floors to enjoy psychophysical benefits. According to a University of California Irvine study, walking barefoot positively affects posture and sleep quality. Different surface treatments, such as planing or brushing wood, convey a deep feeling of relaxation.
  5. Wood floor cleaning. Contrary to what you may believe, choosing a wooden floor is a quick and practical solution: it is hypoallergenic, does not retain dust and does not produce any! In this article we explain how to keep parquet flooring looking new.
