Let us begin by introducing Maurizio Vernata, who has been a collaborator of Berti Pavimenti for almost ten years and is active in the Lazio area. With him we exchanged words, ideas and impressions…

Hi Maurizio, would you like to tell you in a few words, maybe just 140 letters so it really comes out as a “tweet”?
Good morning to all , I am Maurizio Vernata, born and raised in Perugia from an exemplary family, with a mother who was a sales manager and a father who was a player and then a soccer coach; resident in Rome since 1994, 46 years old, former school-university teacher, ISEF graduate, motor sciences graduate and a specialist at the Serafico Institute in Assisi, with two publications to my credit and nine exams in Economics and Business and all of this accomplished in my previous “life.”
Today: because of a dear missing friend, happily sales manager of the House srl Representative Company established in 1996 with headquarters in Rome and court consultant for the division of wood flooring and similar, but above all father of a wonderful 5-year-old girl named Carolina, from whom I receive daily motivation and joy to face life.
How long have you been working for Berti Flooring?
Our society has been cooperating with Berti for almost ten years, precisely since the 2002-2003 season.
This may certainly be a biased question, but it would be interesting for us to hear from you what values and features you like most about the company?
The relationship has grown over time with mutual human and professional acquaintance, both of which have been the basis for structuring a path that lives in the work and with the work, but is elevated and cemented by the esteem, trust and affection that the Berti family is able to inspire.
The professional journey has been and is studded with unique initiatives in an industry such as ours: meetings, sales and training courses, conception and development of partner stores, local and national fairs are the expression that thanks to Matteo Berti’s work sets us apart from the competition.
Seriousness, productive and intuitive ability, innovation and continuous research and development taken care of by Giancarlo and Andrea Berti, complete the picture of a highly contextualized company, which obviously exponentially elevates the company content expendable by the sales force in the market.
Just Lazio, the region where you are operating, has been and still is an area full of great satisfaction for the company. What are the keys to your and your team’s success in today’s market?
Latium inevitably should have been a leading region for some time, and in part this has materialized. Being able to make use of a group of professionals who have always been dedicated to this sector, it has been possible to contract the time of growth.
Surely the team and the company are proceeding together with strong determination and absolute will to reach always ambitious and new goals.
Professionalism , service, availability, presence, problem-solving post-sales, are the characteristics that we try to propose to the market believing they are the right motivational levers and then supporting them with activities such as local fairs, meetings, staff training. This in summary represents our external activities, while the office completes the work of promotion with order management , deliveries, offers, administrative control.

What about social media what do you think? Do you consider it a real tool for word of mouth among users and communication/dialogue between company and customer?
Social networking yes! I think it is an indispensable and indispensable tool of communication, in the company-customer dialogue it is fundamental and very welcome, probably today it is the prerogative of many (especially the new generations) but not of everyone.
Only note, probably, in a particularly problematic social moment , even more such type of promotion must be supported by the interpersonal relationship.
The user or the professional must be firstly sensitized by the communication and secondly supported in all the aspects that succeed a business proposal.
Relationships are a key aspect, especially offline and in a business like yours-how do you approach all the people in your work network?
In this activity, one must use and try to develop the natural propensity and psychological characteristics of the human resource to the maximum.
Motivation, positivity, satisfaction, even before the not inconsiderable economic aspect, we believe are the fundamental components that should sustain every professional.
The House was created to be primarily a working group, so the tendency is to break down classic corporate organizational charts and the characteristics of the professional figures who interact on a daily basis.
Our presumption goes so far as to think that skills, specializations, aptitudes, can in this way be exponentially enhanced, and rightly elaborated, naturally converge into strategies and goal achievement.

Three good resolutions on a business and personal level for 2012?
In the work drawer we have: budget, revisiting customer base, covering areas of the market left on the back burner.
Projects: local trade shows, but most importantly the construction of a logistics warehouse with an exhibition sample room attached as a pilot center for meetings, personal training, events etc.
Growing for us is the watchword!
