Berti and water-based paint: new plant for a new ecological perspective
Through constant efforts devoted to research, the development of new technologies and the expansion of its production capacity, Berti has become synonymous with ecology and the highest quality.
Starting in January 2012, in fact, Berti will put into operation the new mega coating plant that uses water-based coatings: this is a line that boasts a length of 250 linear meters and is unparalleled in the panorama of European wood flooring manufacturers. This system has been built, in the new plant, using the latest plant technologies designed to meet the needs of wood treatment and finishing, thanks to solutions that guarantee absolute levels of quality and reliability.

The product travels through the coating line at a speed of about 10 meters per minute passing along the different stages of the cycle that include:

- oven drying.
At this point, after about 25 minutes and 14 stages, the product is ready for the final stage: beveled boards are ready for packaging, while other products without beveling must go through the last stage of framing.
Berti decided to take the side of the environment and maintain a holistic view of the environment. That is why the production department and the plant enjoy greater protection: any emissions into the environment have been eliminated. How was this result achieved?

From January 2012 Berti Pavimenti Legno will be the only manufacturer in Italy that uses water-based varnish for parquet finishing. This type of varnish, used in the new plant, makes it possible to continue to have a product that keeps its characteristics intact in terms of resistance, quality, hardness and appearance. We have improved ecological conditions by restructuring the production plant, increasing production capacity and at the same time keeping the high quality standard intact.
The choice is consistent with the desire to protect the resources that work at Berti every day along with theenvironment around us. The desire to create environmentally friendly products qualifies us as a company with an active role in environmental protection.
Berti‘s products, in Lux, Antico and Basic categories, are designed and engineered to reconcile and integrate production activities with environmental pre-existences, thanks to the use of water-based paint. The new line is also organized to develop naturalized and bleached finishes to BertiStudio‘s ever-renewing colors, thanks to water-based stains. Berti’s water-based paint products are environmentally friendly: they can boast 95 percent fewer harmful emissions when compared to a regular solvent-based paint, while at the same time maintaining an excellent professional standard of quality. These are products guaranteed by Berti.
