Berti advises: how to choose parquet formats
The advice of Berti to help you in your choice of parquet flooring, because the world of wood flooring offers a wide and deep range on which it is sometimes difficult to find your way around all the different qualities offered available. In the first installment of Ber ti Consiglia we talked about the different wood species available in the market and in Berti’s range. Talking instead about parquet formats to choose from, we must add that here too the range is really wide, and we can find products that meet the most diverse needs and tastes: a first orientation to keep in mind is that one should choose according to the room of the house for which they are intended.

Berti offers a range of different parquet formats, in order to be able to enhance and emphasize the wood material in its structure and in the different colors available, so that we can provide you with an answer for all the needs of modularity of visual stimuli. In the end, the right format is not universal, but it is the one that can guarantee maximum flexibility and stability and that allows for a play of laying, between color and warmth, in every environment and furnishing solution.
What then are the dimensions of the parquet elements to be used for your wood floor?
First of all, it is worth mentioning that parquet can be traditional solid, and thus made from a single wood species; or prefinished parquet, consisting of several layers processed male/female, which is finished, sanded and varnished before parquet laying. Berti’s prefinished parquet allows for quick and easy laying, guaranteeing absolute quality of workmanship in terms of hardness and solidity over time.

Two general considerations in terms of format choice.
Very large parquet formats have a tendency to shrink rooms, which is why they are not recommended in small rooms, where instead it is preferable to use a prefinishedBerti Basic width 70, which has variable length between 400 and 600 mm, for a thickness of 9.5 mm, or a Berti Lux width 70, again with variable length between 400 and 600 mm; or alternatively a Berti Antico width 90, with length 600-1,200 and a thickness of 13.1 mm.

If your rooms are medium-sized, you can choose parquet floors from the Berti Lux line width 90 (dimensions 83/90 x 600-1,200 mm) or Berti Antico Maxi with a maximum width of 125 mm and length varying between 600 and 1,600 mm, or even a Berti Basic Maxi with a width of 125 mm (dimensions 118/125 x 600-1600 mm).
The result will be a floor divided into planks or planks of relatively small size, but with a really aesthetically pleasing result and an advantageous price.

In case you have larger rooms available, you can freely choose from Berti and BertiStudio‘s 2-ply or 3-ply planks, (sizes 140-190 x 1,000-2,500 mm), as well as Berti’s Maxi Planks, which offer important dimensions of 200-300 mm in width by 1,000-2,500 mm in overall length that, thanks to their large size, give truly unique sensations of beauty and naturalness to the touch. In order to fully appreciate the beauty of the texture and grain your wood.

Of course, these directions are general since cases where maxi planks or large planks are used even in smaller rooms are not uncommon.
In short, tips and pointers are galore, we at Berti could talk to you about parquet flooring for hours and hours…but in the end it is your taste and ideas that matter most. Everyone is unique and original, and after all, that’s where the beauty lies!
